Bow Tying Tips & Tricks

Tips for tying ribbon KNOTS around a card: 

  • Cut your ribbon 3 times longer than your cardstock – 4 ¼” card – 13” – 14” of ribbon 
  • Cut your ribbon 4 times longer than your cardstock – 5 ½” card – 16” – 17” of ribbon 

Tips for tying ribbon BOWS around a card: 

  • Cut your ribbon 4 times longer than your cardstock – 4 ¼” card use 17” – 18” of ribbon 
  • Cut your ribbon 4 times longer than your cardstock – 5 ½” card use 22” – 23” of ribbon

How to tie a perfect square knot: 

  • Right over Left and under 
  • Pull straight up and down (not left to right) 
  • Left over Right and under
  • Pull only what is in your LEFT hand – this will create a nice flat centre to your square knot. 

How to tie a perfect bow: 

  • Right over Left and under
  • Pull straight up and down (not left to right) 
  • Loop the bottom/right tail 
  • Wrap the upper/left tail over the loop on the right side of the loop, under, and through. 

How to keep the ribbon in place: 

  • Punch a little half circle notch from both side of the cardstock and tuck ribbon inside. It will stay in place and not shift up and down the card.
  • Another tip, place glue dots underneath ribbon on the cardstock to secure in place

On the Weekend I participated in a Demonstrator Training Day! It was a STRAWBERRY SOCIAL theme, hosted by one of my leaders, Anne Granger. She brought in a wonderful fellow demo from the United States, Mary Knabe. Mary delighted us with her presents, BuckEyes, and some yummy cookies from her hometown.

What a fun-filled day it was. Seeing old (young ones too) friends, building on new friendships, being inspired by so many useful tips, we crafted, had product demonstrations, product displays, I was privileged to be able to create a display to showcase current product from the Annual catalogue. I can’t wait to share with you all I learned and bring to you some refreshing ideas and things that you didn’t know or had forgotten.

I just can’t wait…

Events, Community Building and Card Making!

It has sure been busy lately. Even though I love this time of year to get outside and watch my garden grow and flourish, get the pool ready for swimmers and dippers this means Im not in my studio.

I love What I Do – Do What I Love!

About a month ago, I was part of a crafty gently used, retired product sale. It was a huge success. Even though Im sad to let go of much loved crafty products, it paves the way and allows me to introduce new things to play with. The New Annual Catalogue in May| Amazing New Products – Awaiting the Supplement Catty in September, just in-time for the Holiday preparations.

To stay creative and focus on what matters; I recently asked a high school student to help do tasks in the studio. This has lightened the load. An extra pair of hands is keeping me organized. In our province of Ontario, high school students are required to earn community hours towards their diploma. This is a great way I can be more efficient, utilize my time wisely & also help a young person build a greater sense of community, belonging, inclusiveness. They have been over a few times already, and it is wonderful. I’m loving our chats!

Now that Summer is here, my class schedule is posted and summer holidays and in the making I look forward to spending time with the family, being by the pool and the needed crafty time in the studio.

Catalogue Launch Party Review

We gathered together to play with some new products from the New 2023 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. We had some Bingo games and prizes that were brand new products. There was plenty of laughs and loads of card making. Oh! Did I mention Prize Patrol. We had a few of those too!
